Tech Shortages Don’t Have to Kill Your Gift Plans

This holiday season, shopping for electronics is guaranteed to be an unusually difficult challenge. With freight delivery delays, chip shortages, and mail delivery delays, 50% of consumers are already finding that their desired items are out of stock. Tech shortages are real.

Not only are electronic devices increasingly difficult to find, but supply and demand discrepancies are raising the cost of new devices by up to $50. The most popular tech items like gaming consoles, smartphones, TV’s, laptops, and tablets, are all expected to completely sell out.

This doesn’t, however, mean that gifting tech items is a complete fail. This year, it’s worth considering repairing and re-gifting older, broken tech items. Consumers tend to disregard this viable option, preferring to purchase brand new, but there’s a lot to be said for repairing.

Repaired tech items can actually be fixed to like-new condition, and especially this year, there are other perks that make this the best option. Repairing and re-gifting is certainly more cost effective, and it doesn’t rely on slow or delayed shipping. It’s eco-friendly, and ensures that tech gifts are ready in time for the holidays.
