In another positive step forward for the crypto sector as a whole, Korean tech giant Samsung has announced that it will be enabling crypto payments in three Baltic countries. This new development comes after the company announced its partnership with payment provider CopPay.

More on the Matter

While the final implementation of this highly anticipated project will take place in different stages, the system will initially be deployed within the Baltic region. As per recent news stories, there will be only a few stores that will actually accept cryptos in the very beginning. These stores are located across Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania.

At the moment, none of the involved parties are sure as to how the results of this new service will turn out, however, it can be assumed that with the rising popularity of digital currencies, many enthusiasts will avail of this latest offering.

As per information released in relation to the project, Samsung will be accepting digital currency payments in

  1. Bitcoin (BTC)

  2. Litecoin (LTC)

  3. Ripple (XRP)

  4. Ethereum (ETH)

  5. Steem

  6. Dash.

Final Take

As things currently stand, the project is being facilitated on a relatively small-scale. However, that being said, the fact that an established tech giant such as Samsung is experimenting with cryptocurrencies is promising to say the least.
