After months in development, Rowan Energy is ready to launch its much anticipated Rowan SmartMiner.
The Rowan SmartMiner is a cryptocurrency miner and Smart meter in one and is the backbone of its low-carbon Rowan blockchain. The SmartMiner is installed in homes with rooftop solar and counts every kWh of energy produced by the solar panels whilst simultaneously validating transactions on the Rowan blockchain. Rowan rewards its customers for every kWh of that green-generated energy used in the home.
Rowan Energy began its journey in 2018 as a kitchen table project with the aim of rewarding people for living a more sustainable life. CEO and founder David Duckworth came up with the idea of building a blockchain that, instead of burning massive amounts of energy to function, their new breed blockchain would require the generation of 1kWh of renewable energy for the node to be allowed to validate transactions.
After a successful beta launch last year, saw the SmartMiner installed into 50 homes. Rowan is ready to announce that if you live in the UK and own rooftop solar or are thinking of getting solar, you can have a SmartMiner installed and start to earn £0.10p worth of Rowan Coin for every 1kWh you produce from your solar installation and used in your home.
Rowan Energy’s CEO David Duckworth says, “After many months of development, Rowan is so proud to be able to offer its SmartMiner to homes in the UK – by using the best energy and crypto technology, we can truly accelerate the adoption of rooftop solar”.
Rowan takes the data collected from the generation of green energy and mints an NFT carbon offset certificate with some clever functionality. To fit into the regulations of the voluntary carbon market, Rowan’s NFT holds data from SmartMiners, can be transferred only once and self-burns after 12 months.
Profits are taken from every SmartMiner sold to buy tokens from exchanges, lowering the circulating supply and adding buy pressure to its pairs.
Rowan Coin is traded on Probit and LATOKEN, with integration into a new exchange scheduled for its subsequent development cycle this year.
