The ongoing coronavirus crisis had seemingly forced Purse.io to shut down its services altogether. In an updated blog post, it now seems that the company will resume some services for the foreseeable future.
Purse.io has been a valuable service to many Bitcoin users.
Purse.io Isn’t Shutting Down After all
The platform allowed users to shop on Amazon at discounted rates by using the world’s leading cryptocurrency.
Unfortunately, it appeared as if the company would be dissolved a week ago.
After disabling new signups and confirming Purse.io would shut down in late June, the crypto community started showing ample support.
As such, it would appear that the company has reconsidered the decision to shut down.
An acquisition may occur in the future, although nothing has been confirmed at this time.
For users, the important bit is how “Shop and Earn” will remain functional.
Initially, the feature would cease to be on April 23rd, but that is no longer the case.
It is a remarkable turn of events that most people didn’t see coming.
Even so, it goes to show that the cryptocurrency industry is a lot more coherent than some people would like to think.
It is also good to see this service being resumed, even if it is not available on a global scale just yet.
