The leading global cryptocurrency exchange has surpassed 20 million registered users on its platform. To celebrate the event, there will be a commemorative KuCoin Futures Global Team Battle event in late July, with $1 million in prizes to be distributed.
Surpassing the 20 million registered users milestone is not entirely surprising. KuCoin has seen tremendous growth in H1 2022, even though all crypto markets have been rather bearish during that time. The growing interest in cryptocurrencies – partially due to lower prices and broader support for local fiat currencies – continues to rise globally.
KuCoin added over 9.75 million new users in the first half of 2022. That growth is a strong catalyst for surpassing the 20 million registered user milestone, as the exchange doubled its customer base in roughly seven months. Interestingly, that growth comes from crucial regions, including Asia, Latin America, Africa, The Middle East, and Europe.
Particularly the interest from Asia is a bit surprising, as the region has a seemingly love-hate relationship with cryptocurrencies. However, KuCoin welcomed 5.9 million Asian users in H1 2022, confirming the overall outlook on crypto assets remains positive. It is also good to see Latin American users take a stronger interest in the exchange. Part of that growth comes from integrating Brazilian Real trading.
Furthermore, KuCoin integrated EUR fiat trading pairs along with BRL support. As a result, there are several new key trading markets, such as BTC/BRL, BTC/EUR, and USDT/BRL to take advantage of. Converting fiat currency to cryptocurrency remains the primary gateway for novice users. In addition, KuCoin launched new products under its banner to bring customers more utility and diversification options.
Achieving a milestone of over 20 million registered users is significant for any cryptocurrency exchange. For KuCoin, it is one of the objectives of its globalization strategy. The team will continue to penetrate net markets through better community and language support for current and future products and feature launches. That localization support is invaluable when expanding globally.
KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu adds:
“As KuCoin’s 5th anniversary is approaching, the number of registered users surpassed 20 million, which is another milestone for us. KuCoin is growing at a high speed with the support and trust of every user regardless of market conditions. To express our gratitude to users, we will provide more innovative products and services around NFT, GameFi, and Web 3.0 to help users access the crypto world more easily.”
One way of strengthening the community is through the upcoming KuCoin Futures Global Team Battle. It is the first event of this kind and features a prize pool of $1 million. Users can win up to $20,000 for joining, and there are bonuses for leaders, newbie airdrops, and other rewards to explore. The competition will kick off later in July, with more information to be announced through KuCoin’s social channels.
