GUZZLER is a decentralized NFT platform that will be the gateway into the metaverse. The platform’s first presale and launch took place in November 2021 using the Yasha Launch dApp gaining over 1364 holders of the $GZLR token in a matter of days.
Built on the Ethereum blockchain, GUZZLER is an action-packed car racing game where players who join it cannot only enjoy the gameplay but also fully customize their rides for ultimate performance and control. Every in-game item on GUZZLER is built as an NFT meaning you get full ownership of your car’s wheels, body kits, and performance parts, not to mention the entire car.
Players can buy some rare wheels on the platform’s NFT marketplace or mint an NFT paint job to customize their car with a completely new look.
GUZZLER’s Origin Story
NFTs have been trending on mainstream media platforms for months since it first emerged that some such as Bepple’s monumental digital art mosaic sold for over $60 million.
Apart from the use of NFTs in digital art, the popularity of NFTs have further been accelerated by their use in gaming. Furthermore, social media giants have also come out in full support of NFTs with claims of plans to build a metaverse that will be enabled by NFTs.
Given the explosive uptake of NFTs in recent months, Etherscan’s gas tracker which is a bandwidth and pricing tool for transactions on Ethereum’s blockchain shows how the list of top dApps is clogged by NFT creation platforms.
For this reason, GUZZLER was born to help NFT fans enjoy more than just collecting rare digital assets. According to Joey Poareo who is the founder and CEO of GUZZLER, the platform aims to be a top-tier platform for creating NFTs for players to enjoy.
“As a gamer, I have watched the community grow around NFTs and gaming and wanted to offer gamers an opportunity to experience what it would feel like owning their very own unique token in the form of a car that they could race in our game,” says Poareo.
“I’ve always loved cars. I’ve always loved building cars, working on cars. [Even] my partner Liquid Snake has always loved cars too and he has always loved games and building games.” Poareo added.
Poareo’s passion for building cars and gaming fuelled the drive to launch GUZZLER as an NFT based virtual world where players get to customize their NFT cars that they own as well as use those cars to journey through the vast spaces of the metaverse.
What is an NFT and What is the Metaverse?
An NFT or non-fungible token is a completely unique asset that lives on the blockchain. An NFT is a type of cryptocurrency however it differs from regular cryptocurrencies in that it cannot be used as a medium of exchange as you would a cryptocurrency. This is because each NFT is irreplaceable and unidentical to the next one.
Just as you can store a cryptocurrency in a wallet, an NFT can also be stored in a wallet which makes it accessible to the owner. Even though common examples of NFTs are typically digital images or in-game items, anything can be turned into an NFT such as real estate, company shares, and even cars.
As for the metaverse itself, the term was coined by Neal Stephenson in his science fiction novel Snow Crash. Stephenson describes a metaverse as:
“A consensual hallucination experienced daily by billions of legitimate operators, in every nation, by children being taught mathematical concepts… A graphical representation of data abstracted from the banks of every computer in the human system. Unthinkable complexity. Lines of light ranged in the nonspace of the mind, clusters, and constellations of data. Like city lights, receding.”
Simply put, Stephenson’s vision of the metaverse is a virtual world where users can interact with each other just as they would in the real world.
NFTs are a pillar part of enabling a realistic metaverse experience as they enable users to create and own unique digital assets just as they would physical assets in the real world.
What does GUZZLER bring to the metaverse?
GUZZLER is facilitating transportation throughout the metaverse with a gaming platform that goes beyond gameplay to allow players to create and earn from NFTs. Racetrack creation is underway on the GUZZLER platform and players will be able to race their friends and foes for special access to exclusive NFTs as well as other rewards.
Built into the GUZZLER platform is an ERC-20 token that will be used to issue reflection to token holders as well as reward top players on the platform. According to GUZZLER’s whitepaper, the $GZLR token will be staked by token holders who want to gain access to performance parts for their NFT cars.
Players who beat higher levels in GUZZLER’s single-player mode will also be able to unlock performance part NFTs among other types of NFTs. The other option for players to upgrade their cars within GUZZLER is to buy NFT parts in the platform’s open market.
“We are using this token model to compensate all participants in the game’s ecosystem. Token holders will be rewarded for their contributions in growing and facilitating the platform’s further development and players will get true ownership in a play-to-earn platform. They can stake their tokens towards participation rewards which could be anything from unlocking NFTs to earning performance parts for their cars. We aim to encourage players to create just as much as they play.” – Poareo
GUZZLER aims to give gamers a true gaming experience by allowing them the ability to build NFT cars on top of the game itself. With the metaverse around the corner, ownership of virtual assets will become a priority and NFT cars will be top on the list of must-haves.
GUZZLER’s native token ($GZLR ) will serve to increase the platform’s scalability, security and fund the ongoing growth of GUZZLER through a taxation system.
Built into the $GZLR token is a staking system that allows players to stake their tokens for a chance to receive NFT cars from races as well as other types of NFTs.
For token holders to have access to the GUZZLER’s exclusive NFTs, they will be required to hold GZLR tokens within their wallets. In addition, the $GZLR token has a built-in taxation system designed to discourage pump and dump schemes. This is achieved through a flexible 7% tax on all transactions where 3% will go to marketing, another 3% to the platform’s liquidity pools, and 1% to reflection for token holders.
GUZZLER is on track to become what some call “the way” for gamers of all types. Gamers and car enthusiasts will enjoy building customizable units on top of GUZZLER, where they will be allowed to race their fellow gamers for exclusive access to even more NFTs.
NFTs are one of the hottest commodities in gaming and given the level of mainstream attention they are receiving, gamers with NFTs will have the edge over other players in the metaverse.
