Bitcoin’s SegWit Support Drops Below 50% Again

It is evident that the adoption of SegWit on the Bitcoin network will be a crucial statistic.  Unfortunately, it would appear that the use of this technology is degrading, although no one really knows why that is the case.

A lot of people are keeping a close eye on the Bitcoin network at all times.

No One Cares About SegWit

That includes the current transaction backlog, network fees, active addresses, and so forth.

One other crucial aspect is the adoption rate of SegWit, or Segregated Witness.

For years now, this protocol upgrade has not been received all that well by the general public.

Its adoption rate hardly ever surpassed 55%, which has been rather problematic for some time.

Today, it seems as if things are going backward, for no apparent reason.

The current rate of “adoption” sits at just 49% and may continue to drift lower.

All of this is despite more service providers natively supporting SegWit in this day and age.

That being said, a lot of service providers have yet to integrate this technology.

One also has to keep in mind that most people never move money out of an exchange either.

As such, the SegWit “adoption” numbers won’t increase to a more acceptable level anytime soon.
