ARPA Mainnet is now live on Ethereum, featuring a unique Threshold Signature Scheme (TSS) and improvements based on rigorous testing and community feedback on the Testnet.
The ARPA Network, backed by its vibrant user community, strives to innovate cryptographic systems that make blockchain ecosystems more versatile, reliable, and interoperable. To this end, ARPA has fulfilled its promise for Q2 2023 and achieved a key milestone by deploying its Mainnet on Ethereum.
ARPA begins a new chapter with the Mainnet launch, offering a broader scope for developers and project owners in Web3. They can use ARPA’s API for diverse use cases like random number generation, multi-party computation, decentralized voting systems, decentralized access control, privacy-preserving identity management, and more.
Moreover, the remaining 500 million ARPA tokens, out of the max supply of two billion, will be minted on June 22nd, at 2:00 PM [UTC+8]. The tokens will be released progressively and serve as staking rewards and contribute to the ecosystem growth reserve.
In October 2022, ARPA transitioned from a restrictive Multi-Party Computation (MPC) model to a TSS-BLS framework for greater scalability and efficiency.
The transition was despite the MPC Mainnet’s otherwise remarkable performance and smooth network operations for nearly 27 months between 2020 and 2022. It handled 250K+ computation tasks, facilitated a two-year staking program backed by strong community support, and boosted ARPA’s total market cap by almost 10 times.
ARPA has introduced several enhancements in its Mainnet vis-à-vis the Testnet launched in April 2023. This was achieved through continuous testing, iteration, and community feedback implementation. The purpose of these efforts was to bolster the network’s functionality and reliability.
Essential modifications have been made to the dependency management, with the inclusion and updates of various dependencies. Noteworthy improvements have been made in the process of handling and fulfilling randomness requests, leading to better precision in resource calculations. The introduction of new test cases and code refactoring has led to enhancements in system testing and overall code quality.
The Controller and Adapter, key parts of the system, have been enriched with additional features and views. In terms of error management, significant improvements have been achieved. Strategies such as a recurring check in system listeners, selective retry on transaction failure, and enhanced polling management have been implemented. These improvements all point towards a commitment to continuous enhancement of system performance and efficiency.
Committed to promoting transparency and honest communication, ARPA has updated the README.md file on GitHub to reflect the changes featured in the Mainnet. By doing so, the project invites community members to provide feedback and join in for another productive development sprint.
Randcast, the first showcase on the ARPA Network, will introduce a new layer of innovation to the ARPA network, pushing the boundaries in various areas. It’ll open up new possibilities for on-chain gaming, lotteries, NFT drops, wallet management, and DAO governance, among other areas.
ARPA will further incentivize participation through upcoming initiatives like the six-month community pool staking program, followed by a Bug Bounty. Randcast 0.1.0 (Alpha), the first verifiable Random Number Generator on the ARPA Mainnet, is also coming soon.
Besides enabling myriad applications, Randcast will provide inspiration for creating custom solutions on top of ARPA’s open-source framework.
The ARPA team is also exploring integration opportunities with other EVM-compatible ecosystems, such as the BNB Chain, and they’re closely following the evolution of Layer-2.
